Can you think of any foods you try to avoid at all costs? In some cases, you dislike things you’ve been told are not good for you. Staying away from bad food makes complete sense, but the information you’ve been told probably wasn’t accurate.

Imagine all those tasty treats you don’t get to enjoy because someone decided to tell you lies. Even scientific claims eventually get debunked, so you should reintroduce them into your life. Here are some big ones you should change your mind about.

1. Whole eggs

Your arteries don’t clog up when you eat egg yolks, so you can rest easy eating your omelettes. Forget about the impact they’ll have on your cholesterol too. You had to restrict the number of eggs you ate per week.

These days, you’re allowed to eat as many as you want. Scientists are actually saying they might be good for your heart. You can also enjoy things like whole egg mayonnaise if you make sure it’s in moderation.

2. Coconut oil

Oils were dumped into the same category years ago, which is unfair because they’re all different. Luckily we know a lot more about them today. Coconut oil is perhaps the best of the bunch if you want to stay healthy.

It’s going to increase your HDL cholesterol as opposed to your LDL cholesterol, so it will balance them out a lot better. The oil also contains medium-chain triglycerides that give you a big boost of energy straight away.

3. Whole grains

The paleo community came along and started saying grains were the worst thing since uncooked chicken. I’m sure they convinced half the country they had a sensitivity to grains, which only affects a small percentage of people.

Can you imagine living the rest of your life without having another bowl of oatmeal? All whole grains contain lots of wonderful nutritional qualities. If you stopped eating them add grains into your diet again right now.

4. Coffee

Coffee definitely has its negatives if you’re sensitive to caffeine. It’s also best to stay away from the bitter brew if you have an anxiety disorder. It will speed up your metabolism making you feel even worse.

It’s almost the exact opposite if you don’t have any of these problems. The beans contain lots of goodies that will improve your health. Coffee even has antioxidants strong enough to reduce your risk of fatal diseases.

5. Frozen vegetables

When you buy fresh fruits and vegetables from the supermarket it’s not cheap. You always have the option of buying frozen produce, which will save you a fortune. Sadly, too many shoppers think it’s worthless.

You’re led to believe all the nutrients are sucked out of them. The same kind of thing applies to canned fruits and vegetables. If you compare them to fresh produce there isn’t really any difference at all.

6. Salt

Salt is one of those things everyone needs in their diet. If you don’t eat enough you’ll die, so it’s impossible to work out why so many people are still scared of it. If you eat too much you won’t gain a few extra pounds of weight.

When you eat enough your nerves and muscles will function properly. The electrolyte will help balance your bodily fluids. If you don’t try to restrict yourself you should hit the minimum daily intake easily enough.

You’re not the only person who has bought into the lies. It’s going to take a long time before everyone realizes they’ve listened to the wrong people. At least you’ll be able to rethink your diet now that you know these foods are okay.
