You may have your own yacht, super yacht or jet so what’s next? How about your own personal portable private island!? Developers Dutch Docklands are working in conjunction with Christie’s International Real Estate and renowned oceanographer Jean-Michel Cousteau to make this a reality.

Design

The designer Koen Olthuis is named one of the most influential people in the world by Time magazine; he has a history of creating Dutch on-water properties. Customers will be able to choose the shape, size, style and even location for their private island, so where would you choose to put yours, Dubai, Miami, The Maldives?

Maldives – 2010

In 2010 Dutch Docklands helped to create private floating islands to deal with rising sea levels. The 10 unique floating islands all have a private beach, pool and natural greenery. They also come with a private jetty and are located roughly 25 minutes from the airport via boat.

Environment

Some people may have concerns about the effect of the private islands on the environment, however the islands will be completely self-sufficient and scarless. The islands will be built to last greater than 100 years and will be safe from rising sea levels. They will also create new underwater habitat’s for sea life.

What’s Next?

A deal has been reached with OQYANA Real Estate in Dubai for 33 private islands to be built as part of The World Islands in Dubai. In addition, 30 private islands will be built in Miami with private boat service, personal butlers and staff to provide amenities.
