For those who are working actively with the Law of Attraction, knowing when to take action is a critical step in the process. Are you supposed to wait for a sign before you go after a goal? Are you supposed to take action at a specific time? How do you know that it’s the right time to go after the things you want?

These are all good questions, because taking action at the “wrong” time leaves us feeling frustrated. When we act and the energy isn’t right, we end up spinning our wheels. We work much longer and harder than need be, and this can cause us to give up on our dreams before they are completed.

Uninspired action can be a real dream killer, so it’s a good idea to know how to take action at the right time.

So, here is my rule of thumb for taking action.  It has helped me achieve a lot of personal and professional goals that I’ve had for myself. Feel free to use for your own goals!

As a general rule, I believe it’s best to take action when it’s either a) the most pressing action on the table or b) it feels like the most enjoyable thing to do.

For example, I still need to do my taxes. However, I haven’t yet felt the pressing “tug” to do it yet. It feels less pressing than other things I have going on, so it’s still sitting in the background.

I’m not a procrastinator; I’m just waiting for the right time.

I know that when I feel the tug, it will be the right time and I’ll get to business right away, but until I feel the tug I will be taking action on other goals that feel more pressing and/or fun.

When I force myself to move ahead with plans like these before I feel the tug, I often feel like I am dragging through the process. After all, how many people really enjoy doing their taxes? Without the “tug” a process like this can feel quite uninspired, and can cause an “unenjoyable” process to become sheer misery.

Dragging through an uninspired process lowers your vibration, and keeps you from manifesting success. The Law of Attraction only works “for you” when you are feeling good about what you’re doing, and at the most pressing moment, I feel the best about doing my taxes.

This is why many of are more productive under pressure. When the pressure’s on, it’s time to act.

As for another example, sometimes you get a really good idea that feels inspired and enjoyable. Instead taking a “work before play” attitude and putting these fun ideas on the shelf to trudge through less inspired work first, I try to engage in these ideas right away.

Usually these ideas play out beautifully, and they end up helping me out much more than the uninspired actions set aside in their place.

For instance, last week I suddenly got an idea for an article that popped into my head, and it felt like a fun thing to write. I had already written my article for the day, so I didn’t need to write another, but I stopped what I was doing and got right to it because I knew it must be an inspired idea.

That article did GREAT with my audience, and was quickly republished by a very large consciousness website. I got a ton of new traffic to my website, and a bunch of new newsletter subscribers.

Taking pause to go after a “fun” project paid off big time for me. This is why when ideas sound like fun, I try to jump on them quickly.

So if you are wondering if now is the right time to go after that job you’ve been wanting, or if it’s the right time ask out that girl you’ve had your eye on, ask yourself this: does it feel like the most pressing thing to do OR does it feel like the most fun thing to do right now?

A “yes” to either of these questions is a good sign that now is the time to take action.

Just remember, timing is everything. Let these two indicators alert you to the proper timing of your actions and you’ll find that moving to your goals is more fun, efficient and rewarding!
