We posted a video last month showing how a homeless man reacts when he’s given $100. The heart-warming video illustrated the acts of kindness that still exists in the world today, even from people who have very little. Similarly, the video above shows how a homeless man helps a freezing kid. Surprisingly, he is one of the only people to help the child on the street.

In this social experiment, a child is placed on the streets of New York City where conditions are extremely chilly. The child is clothed in only a torn t-shirt, jeans and socks. He uses a plastic bag to shelter himself from the bitter wind and conditions, as he spends 2 hours on the side of the street, before he is offered help from a fellow homeless man.

We’re not certain about how much editing has taken place in this video, but nevertheless, the message is still of importance. So many people walked past and acknowledged this child in the video, but didn’t offer to help him. Finally when the child did receive some attention, it came from a man who had literally nothing himself. You don’t have to have any material wealth to show compassion. We go about our day-to-day lives complaining about small things, when there are so many people out there that are struggling to survive. If you ever get the opportunity to make someone’s day that little bit better, take it… We’re all human after all!
