Acne scars are a skin problem which upset many people at different ages. This problem is the result of inflamed blemishes which are caused by clogged skin pores due to dead skin cells, excess oil, and bacteria. People who experience acne scars have tried many expensive methods in order to get rid of them. However, while most of these solutions do not work, expensive laser procedures require a professional dermatologist. Moreover, acne treatment creams which are available in the market may contain questionable chemicals.

But before you worry, you need to know that there are many natural solutions that can help you get rid of acne scars effectively without costing you a lot of money or causing unwanted side effects. Along with a healthy diet, exercise, and hydration, natural homemade face masks for acne scars can be considered as effective home remedies that give you the significant relief and results. In this article, I would like to introduce you to 5 natural homemade face masks.

These natural homemade face masks for acne scars that I would like to introduce to you, use a variety of safe and effective ingredients. For example, honey is often utilized to make face masks because it has hydrating and moisturizing properties. Other ingredients which can nourish your skin as well as get rid of acne-related problems are green tea, cinnamon, apple cider vinegar, milk and turmeric.

1. Apple cider vinegar face mask

For the apple cider vinegar face mask, all the ingredients you will need are green tea, apple cider vinegar, honey, and sugar.

Honey has not only moisturizing properties but also antibacterial and antiseptic properties. Therefore, it is the reason why honey is an excellent ingredient for acne-prone skin. Moreover, thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, honey can work well for skin inflammation and redness due to pimples and acnes. I recommend using organic, raw honey because processed honey can cause skin irritation.

The second ingredient of this mask is apple cider vinegar which contains the alpha hydroxyl acids. When absorbing, these acids will unclog your skin pores in order to remove the dirt, excess oil and stuck bacteria. People often use apple cider vinegar to get rid of dead skin cells. Furthermore, apple vinegar is effective in restoring your skin PH level, treating blemishes and closing your pores.

Green tea is loaded with antioxidants which can help you to fight against harmful free radicals and give you a flawless, bright, younger-looking skin appearance. Moreover, green tea also contains anti-inflammatory properties.

To make this mask, you need to pour one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a bowl. After that, add into this bowl two teaspoons of green tea and then mix it with five tablespoons of sugar. Finally, add one teaspoon of honey in the bowl. Stir this mixture in the bowl until it becomes a thick consistent paste. You can add more sugar if necessary. Use a cotton pad to apply this paste on your skin. Massage it for a few minutes to improve blood circulation to the skin and remove dead skin cells. Leave this mask on for about 15 minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water. You should use this natural homemade face mask for acne scars once or twice a week in order to see visible results.

2. Natural homemade mask with honey and cinnamon

Cinnamon has been well-known for anti-viral and anti-bacterial effects for thousands of years. Like honey, cinnamon contains anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Therefore, it is considered as an effective ingredient for acne scars. Moreover, using cinnamon powder also helps to stimulate the new skin regeneration.

You just need to mix one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and two teaspoons of honey in a bowl. Make sure that all these ingredients are blended perfectly. You can add more honey if you feel this treatment is too thick. Wet your face with warm water first and then use your fingertips to apply it on your face. Leave this mask on for about 10 – 15 minutes in order for the nutrients and benefits of this mask to absorb deep into your skin.

Once finished, you can rinse it off with warm water and then apply a toner. If you do not have a toner available, you can make a natural homemade toner by using lemon juice or mixing one part of apple vinegar with two parts of water. Use this mask daily for the best results.

3. Face mask for acne with milk, turmeric, and honey

Turmeric is a great natural ingredient for removing acne scars. This is because turmeric has antioxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Moreover, raw milk can exfoliate your skin and give it a younger-looking appearance thanks to its lactic acid content.

Mix one teaspoon of turmeric powder, one teaspoon of honey, and two teaspoons of milk together in a bowl until it becomes a smooth paste. Apply this paste on your affected skin and leave it for 10 – 15 minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water. It is recommended that you repeat this several times a week.

4. Egg, lemon, clay and tea tree

Egg white has been used to treat acne scars for ages because they can help to remove dirt stuck in your skin pores. Lemon juice is effective in exfoliating dead skin cells and tea tree oil has moisturizing properties.

Beat one egg white with one tablespoon of lemon juice, and then add one tablespoon of clay in. When you it turns into a smooth paste, you can apply it to your face. Please avoid the eye area. Leave this paste for 20 minutes before washing it off. Apply a suitable moisturizer for your skin type afterwards to make your skin look soft and smooth. Because this mask contains lemon juice, which makes your skin sensitive to sunlight, you should repeat this paste only once a week.

5. Egg, honey, orange, and lemon

Egg, honey, and lemon are wonderful ingredients that help you eliminate acne scars and hydrate your skin. According to “Cosmetic Dermatology: Principles and Practice”, orange is acidic and contains high levels of vitamin C, which makes orange a great remedy for acne. You can use either orange peel or orange juice to cure acne scars. However, in this article, I only want to mention the removal of acne scars using orange juice.

Beat one egg white and mix it with 1 tablespoon of honey, 3 drops of lemon juice and 3 drops of orange juice. Apply it on your face and leave it for 20 minutes. After that, you can rinse it off and apply a moisturizer.

For satisfactory results, repeat this treatment once a week.
